As 2024 comes to an end, we at sanctions.io are pausing to reflect on an incredible year—a year made possible by the trust of our customers, the collaboration of our partners, and the hard work of our team. From doubling our customer base to launching new features that simplify compliance, it’s been a year of tangible progress. And the best part? We’re just getting started.

2024: A Year of Growth, New Ideas, and Stronger Connections

We Doubled Our Customer Base and Revenue

This year, more businesses than ever chose sanctions.io to simplify their AML and sanctions screening. From fintech startups to established enterprises, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with companies around the world. Doubling our revenue and customer base was more than a number for us—it was proof that compliance professionals value intuitive, effective tools that make their daily work easier.

Our Team Grew to Support You Better

To keep up with our growth, we also doubled the size of our team. One of the most impactful additions was a dedicated Customer Success (CS) team. Their sole focus is helping you get the most out of our platform—answering questions, solving problems, and ensuring that sanctions.io works seamlessly for your needs. As we grow, we remain committed to keeping the quality of support personal, timely, and effective.

We Expanded Our Product Capabilities

Innovation is what drives us. This year, we rolled out features and updates designed to help compliance teams work faster and smarter:

  1. A Redesigned Screening Portal – We revamped the user experience to make screening faster and more intuitive. The result? A clean, efficient workflow that helps teams focus on the matches that matter.

  2. Batch Screening API – Businesses can now screen large datasets automatically, reducing manual work and increasing screening accuracy.

  3. Adverse Media Screening – Compliance is about more than sanctions lists. We added adverse media screening to help you identify potential risks that might otherwise go unnoticed.

  4. More Sanctions and Watchlists – We added over 20 new lists to keep you covered wherever you operate, making sure your compliance stays one step ahead.

SOC 2 Type II Certification

Security is non-negotiable for us, and achieving SOC 2 Type II compliance this year was a proud moment. It’s an external validation of the care we take to ensure your data is secure, available, and protected.

Looking Ahead: Our Focus for 2025

While we’re proud of what we achieved in 2024, we’re even more excited about what’s coming in 2025. Next year, we’ll continue to focus on solving the most time-consuming and complex challenges compliance teams face.

Launching Ongoing Monitoring

One of our most anticipated launches is our Ongoing Monitoring product. With this new feature, you’ll be able to continuously monitor clients and business partners against updated sanctions, PEPs, and adverse media watchlists.

Key highlights include:

  • Real-Time Monitoring – Stay updated as new regulatory changes roll out.
  • Allowlisting – Minimize repetitive alerts by managing approved matches directly.
  • A Dedicated Monitoring Portal – Review, manage, and act on alerts seamlessly.

AI-Powered Screening Reviews

We know false positives are one of the biggest frustrations for compliance teams. Even with the latest matching technology, reviewing matches still takes time. That’s why we’re introducing an AI-powered agent to improve and prioritize screening results.

How it works:

  • It considers not just name matches but also context—like historical data, risk patterns, and your specific industry.
  • It explains and rates matches and the probability of a high-risk situation.
  • It learns from your decisions to continually improve results over time.

The goal? Less time spent on false positives and more focus on meaningful risks.

Platform Improvements and Integrations

We’ll also roll out improvements to make sanctions.io even more flexible and user-friendly, including:

  • Advanced Reporting – More detailed insights and customizable dashboards to help you track and optimize compliance efforts.
  • New Integrations – Connect seamlessly with platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, Airtable, and more to fit sanctions.io into your workflows.
  • Additional Sanctions Lists – We’ll keep expanding our coverage to meet local and industry-specific needs

Celebrating Five Years of sanctions.io

In 2025, sanctions.io will turn five—a milestone that feels both big and small. What started as a side project in the early days of the pandemic has grown into a sustainable, thriving business. As a bootstrapped company, every decision we make is centered on creating tools that are powerful, affordable, and easy to use.

This year, we’ve been reminded once again of what sets us apart: our customers. Your trust, feedback, and partnership fuel everything we do. Whether it’s a feature suggestion, a support question, or a success story you share with us—you’re the reason we keep pushing forward.

Looking to 2025 and beyond, our mission stays the same: to make compliance smarter, simpler, and more effective. We can’t wait to keep building alongside you.

Thank you for being part of this journey. If we had to summarize all this, it would be best expressed in one simple word: Gratefulness!
